Perth City Tour
Grab a paddle and we'll show you Perth from a whole new perspective!
Starting from the wide open river outside Willowgate we'll head to Moncrieffe Island and then up it's North secluded channel. As we get closer to the city centre we'll have plenty of time to enjoy the tranquil scenery while trying to spot wildlife e.g. otters, kingfishers, beaver, heron etc. The wildflowers in summer are beautiful, and the rest of the year, beaver evidence is fascinating sight to see on the river banks.
Once at the top of Moncreiffe Island, the views of the Perth City skyline are one of a kind. Most locals have never seen it from this angle and are always excited for the picture perfect moment. Once we've stopped for a breather and a photo we'll head back down the South side of Moncrieffe island taking note of a bit of Perth's history before heading back to Willowgate, triumphant after our 7km paddle!
This tour can be done in a range of crafts to suit anyone's needs from Kayak, Canoe, Stand-Up Paddleboard or Katakanu. All can be done from beginner level, so for more information about each craft, click on the relevant options below.

Willowgate to Newburgh
From one town to another; a great journey with good views and a sense of adventure
Our Willowgate to Newburgh tour does exactly what it says on the tin! Starting at Willowgate we'll journey down past all of the traditional fishing bothies, past Elcho Castle which you'll be able to spot through the trees and continuing past the mouth of the River Earn until finally seeing Mugdrum Island in all it's glory with Newburgh tucked just behind.
The stretch of river between Willowgate and Newburgh is packed full of interesting history and nature and has a very different feel to the river higher up. As the reed bed starts to appear about half way through the journey you'll have a good realisation of the scale of the biggest reedbed in Europe. As we get close to the River Earn the Tay suddenly changes personality from a small river meandering through the hills to a large, wide estuary making it's way out to sea.
This 10km journey is a great step up from the Perth City Kayak Tour, although can be done by most beginners who are up for a bit of a challenge.
The journey finishes at Newburgh Slipway and paddlers must organise their own transport home or back to Willowgate. Most people solve this by dropping a car off in Newburgh before the tour, getting a friend to pick them up or some get the bus back to Perth.
Whatever craft you'd like to join us in, this is a tour not to be missed!

Willowgate to Elcho Castle
Paddle downstream to take in the sights of the glorious River Tay and Perthshire countryside
Our Elcho Castle tours start at Willowgate before heading down river past Kinnoull Hill and surrounding areas before arriving next to Elcho Castle. During the summer you'll just be able to see it through the trees but when the leaves fall it stands proud on the riverbank.
This is one of our shorter tours and has great views of Kinnoull Hill and it's watch tower on the return journey back to Willowgate. One of our experience guides will be with you every paddlestroke of the way to make sure you're getting the best experience on the water as possible.
A lot of our customers enjoy heading both ways on the river, both up to Perth City and down to Elcho Castle. So if you've already done one, why not try the other!
