Located in the heart of Scotland beside the beautiful River Tay

Walk

From Perth City Centre there is a beautiful riverside walk, accessible from Rodney Gardens. This path is on a rough terrain and can be especially muddy in the winter. During summer months it's a jungle of wild flowers, and is a fun journey. The path is not accessible an hour either side of high tide. You can check the Tay's tide times here. Please note this route is changeable and Willowgate Activity Centre can take no responsibility for your travel to our centre. If you would rather have solid ground to walk on, simply cross the South Street bridge from the City Centre and turn right onto Dundee Road. You can follow this pavement all the way to Willowgate.

• From Dundee: From Dundee, take the A90 towards Perth and use the left lane to take the A85 slip road to Perth. Keep left to stay on Dundee Rd/A85. Willowgate is on the second left (after Walnut Grove) and is signposted with a brown tourist sign saying 'Willowgate Activity Centre'
• From Perth City Centre: Cross over the South Street bridge and turn right onto Dundee Rd/ A85, take a slight right to stay on Dundee Rd (i.e. do not take the A90 towards Dundee). You'll then pass under a bridge and should stay left to remain on Dundee Road. Willowgate is on the second left (after Walnut Grove) and is signposted with a brown tourist sign saying 'Willowgate Activity Centre'
• From Edinburgh: Take the M90 towards Perth. When you find yourself on the Friarton Bridge (over the River Tay), look out for Junction 11 at the end of the bridge. At Junction 11 take the A85 exit to Perth. Keep looping around and continue on the A85, Willowgate is on the second left (after Walnut Grove) and is signposted with a brown tourist sign saying 'Willowgate Activity Centre'

Bike

There is a cycle lane along Dundee Road from South Street bridge. Some of this is on the road and some on the pavement. This is a busy main road which we would only recommend for experienced road cyclists. If you'd like an off-road cycle ride, it is possible to follow the riverside walk described above, however please be aware that it may be necessary to dismount and wheel your bike over some parts. Please note this route is changeable and Willowgate Activity Centre can take no responsibility for your travel to our centre. Brand new Secure Bike storage is available however we do recommend you bring a bike lock down too, people will be in and out throughout the day.

Bus

There are many bus stops in Perth City Centre (40 minutes walk from Willowgate), alternatively there is a bus stop with a limited service in Walnut Grove (5 minutes walk) as well as an electric bus stop right outside Willowgate. The electric bus offers direct routes from Edinburgh and Dundee (see schedule here) We advice you check the bus services available using Google Maps as they often change.
