SUP Coastal Leader: Training
The Stand Up Paddleboard Coastal Leader is aimed at stand up paddleboarders who wish to lead groups on journeys on moderate sea environments.
The training will look at your personal paddling skills, rescues skills in the environment and leadership skills along the coast. We will look at basic navigation and how we might challenge & support a group in the environment while making for the best possible day!
The course takes place over 2 days to allow us to get the best conditions for the remit of the award and spend lots of time getting comfortable at the expectation of us in this environment for assessment.
The Course will take place around Dundee, Fife, angus depend on conditions over the days.
Pre requisites for assessment
- Full National Association Membership
- Valid (within 3 years) British Canoeing Awarding Body recognised 2-Day First Aid Award
- Valid (within 3 years) Safeguarding Training recognised by British Canoeing Awarding Body
- Navigation Award – Coastal Navigation and Tidal Planning
